Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau spoke today with Japanese Vice Foreign Minister Funakoshi Takehiro. They discussed opportunities for advancing economic cooperation in the communications space. The Deputy Secretary and Vice Foreign Minister reaffirmed their commitment to the U.S.-Japan Alliance as the cornerstone of peace and security in the Indo-Pacific and explored ways in which the two countries could further strengthen deterrence and expand security coordination in the region.
