The new tech-infused golf league run by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy is adding more familiar faces. It was announced that former Masters champ Adam Scott and former PGA Championship winner Collin Morikawa have joined TMRW Golf League (TGL).
Scott and Morikawa join the two founders along with Jon Rahm and Justin Thomas for the simulator league that will feature a team format and take place on Monday nights to compliment the PGA Tour schedule.
While Woods has yet to compete in 2023, his role in supporting the PGA Tour has kept him in the headlines. When the golf world began to rapidly fracture in 2022 due to hostility from the LIV Golf series, Woods inserted himself as a leader in keeping the PGA Tour together. Scott, 42, explained that Woods’ taking a stance is one reason he chose to join TGL.
“Tiger pushed golf to a standard that was never seen before, and guys are continuing to push forward. Now, in the position that he’s in, for him to stand up and take a voice for the PGA Tour, I think that’s really strong,” Scott told Sports Illustrated.
“We never saw much ‘side-taking’ from Tiger during his career,” Scott continued. “That’s fair enough, he was a competitor and he was interested in what he was doing. Now, he’s showing his feelings on things. Creating something like TGL with Rory is just another example of how he is having an impact on the game. Certainly, when Tiger goes in on something, it’s going to have an impact no matter what.”
The TGL is slated to tee off in January 2024.
