OpenAI has unveiled a suite of new features for ChatGPT aimed at enhancing productivity and collaboration for enterprise users. The updates include cloud storage integrations, meeting recording and transcription capabilities, and support for connecting to external research tools via Managed Connector Protocol (MCP).
Seamless Cloud Integration
ChatGPT now integrates with popular cloud storage services including Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive, Box, and Dropbox. These connectors allow the chatbot to retrieve relevant content from a user’s own cloud ecosystem to answer queries or support workflows. For example, a financial analyst could prompt ChatGPT to reference internal presentations and documents to help formulate an investment thesis.
OpenAI emphasized that data access adheres to each organization’s existing access control hierarchies, ensuring compliance with internal security protocols.
Meeting Recording and Smart Transcriptions
A new meeting recording and transcription feature brings ChatGPT in line with other enterprise productivity tools. The AI can automatically generate transcriptions, create time-stamped notes, suggest action items, and surface key insights.
Users can also query their meeting content—just like with files and documents—enabling quick retrieval of context, quotes, or tasks discussed during a call.
Additionally, action items identified in meetings can be instantly converted into a Canvas document, streamlining the workflow from discussion to documentation.
Enhanced Support for Deep Research
The rollout includes MCP (Managed Connector Protocol) support, allowing ChatGPT to connect with third-party research tools and databases. This feature is designed to boost deep research capabilities for enterprise users working with complex or specialized datasets.
