The Corry Area Chamber of Commerce is asking for nominations from the community for its business of the year and volunteer of the year awards for 2022.
According to Executive Director Chris Hornick, the business of the year must be a member of the Chamber, but the volunteer of the year can be anyone in the community.
An annual awards dinner is tentatively planned for March 25 — location to be determined — at which the award recipients will be recognized.
Dynasty Construction Unlimited Inc. and the volunteers from Village Friends received the commendations in 2022.
Nominations are due on Feb. 28, Hornick said. They can be emailed to cacc@velocity.net.
Hornick also encourages nominators to include information about why the business or volunteer they nominate is deserving of the honor.
In Hornick’s opinion, it is important to recognize those who work hard in the service of others.
“Every community has unsung heroes,” Hornick said. “People and businesses who give quietly and consistently with no expectation of recognition. It’s one of our goals every year to recognize and honor them at our awards dinner.”
