Mrs. Rose Julius, a retiree who left the service of Lagos University Teaching Hospital can be called a patriotic citizen and deserves an award.
She donated her pension worth N10,000 to the Buhari administration in support of its anti-corruption fight in 2016 and this action has caused C&F Porter Novelli, a reputation capital consultancy in Nigeria, with global footprints to put a smile on her face by paying her the sum of N10,000 monthly for life!
Speaking on why the Consultancy decided to take this action, Managing Director, C&F Porter Novelli, Mr. Tony Ajero said: “We are in challenging times in our country and it is easier to say things are not working and complain endlessly. However, as individuals and as a people, it is our duty to make our country great again and it starts with us. Grandma Julius has shown us a great example that is commendable, which is why we took it upon ourselves to say thank you grandma for your patriotism and love for our country”
Elaborating further, Ajero said: Our action is also part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and at a time when morale is very low and the level of patriotism almost non-existent, it behooves on us as a people, whether it is paying our taxes, obeying traffic lights and so on, to do better and grandma’s example stirs something inside of us, which is why we as an organization believe it is a good example and it should make us say, I can do better.
Speaking to Sheriff Quadry, the anchor of the show, Morning Crossfire on Nigeriainfo, Grandma Julius as she is fondly called said she decided to take that action at that time because she couldn’t find her permanent voter’s card.
She said: ‘My husband and I couldn’t get our permanent voter’s card and for this reason, we were disenfranchised and could not cast out vote. Since that was the case, I decided to support the government by donating my one-month pension, especially because it was said that the outgoing government left nothing in our national purse”
“I sincerely want to that C&F and the entire team for honouring me like this because I never expected it and I am grateful to God and other Nigerians who also sent me something. I urge Nigerians to put their country first and that whatever they do for their country can never be wasted, it can be for your future generation unborn. So, you thank again for putting a smile on my face” Grandma Julius concluded.
I sincerely want to that C&F and the entire team for honouring me like this because I never expected it and I am grateful to God and other Nigerians who also sent me something
C&F Porter Novelli has already remitted to grandma her first monthly stipend of N10,000 and they will continue to do so for life.
Originally called Corporate & Financial Communications Ltd., C&F started in 1997 as a specialist consultancy focused on corporate and financial communications. The company grew into a driving force in public relations and the corporate world.
In 200, it took a major step towards solidifying its global reach by joining the Porter Novelli network as an affiliate partner in West Africa: hence its rebranding to C&F Porter Novelli.
