Being surrounded by crew members while naked and having to act is a big reason why so many performers refuse to take part in any sex scenes in their movies or shows. While Kristen Stewart isn’t necessarily opposed to them, she admits to not being a fan of her love scene from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.”
During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Stewart admitted she only dislikes “contrived” sex scenes. The “Spencer” star explained, “On ‘Twilight,’ we had to do the most epic sex scene of all time . . . It had to be transcendent and otherworldly, inhuman, better sex than you can possibly ever imagine, and we were like . . . ‘How do we live up to that?’ We were so self-consciously aware of that . . . It was agony. Which sucks, because I wanted it to be so good.”
Robert Pattinson was also intimidated by the scene, telling Parade, “I think the more comfortable you are with each other, the harder it gets to do any kind of really intense relationship scene . . . it becomes ridiculous after a while. Watching other people have sex is never going to be that spectacular anyway . . . You are like, ‘God, I hope this lives up to it.’” It seems that no amount of intimacy between the former couple could save the supposedly sensual moment from becoming a silly one.
