We’re seeking an ecologist with a passion for communicating research to help grow the Journal of Ecology blog, and lead on commissioning and editing scientifically robust, high-quality content!
Journal of Ecology publishes cutting-edge research to advance the understanding of all aspects of plant ecology. The blog is an excellent vehicle to engage a wider audience: it currently attracts over 25,000 views per year, showcasing published journal content in an accessible format and serving as a platform for discussing topics of more general interest to our readership and the wider ecological community.
As part of our Associate Editor Board, this is a voluntary position with the Blog Editor working remotely from wherever they’re based. The role is anticipated to require roughly 8-10 hours per month, with the applicant deciding how to best fit this in around their other commitments.
We welcome applicants from every career stage in a relevant ecological discipline and from anywhere in the world.
The successful candidate will receive the same benefits as the journal’s Associate Editors, including:
- early access to cutting-edge research
- free online access to BES journals
- free registration to the British Ecological Society Annual Meeting
- opportunities to network with a wide range of ecologists
