Bengals believe Super Bowl title is in ‘near future’

The Bengals have come up just short of raising the Vince Lombardi Trophy in back-to-back seasons. Quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher believes the team is very close to becoming Cincinnati’s first Super Bowl champion.

The Bengals’ success over the past two seasons is unprecedented for the organization, appearing in back-to-back AFC Championship Games and a Super Bowl.

A lot of thanks goes to one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL: Joe Burrow. Burrow’s five playoff wins in his first three seasons are second only to Russell Wilson in league history for a QB.

However, Cincinnati’s coaches deserve some recognition as well. They make up one of the more underrated staffs in the league, and nobody is going anywhere.

The NFL’s head-coaching carousel is complete, and offensive coordinator Brian Callahan and defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo are staying put.

“They’re going to look back on our staff at some point in the future and they’re going to say, ‘Boy, what a coaching staff that was,'” Callahan said.

Getting so close has made the Bengals all the more hungry, and 2023 may be the year they finally finish the job.
