Amazon Web Services (AWS) has officially launched its new Asia Pacific (Thailand) Region, marking a significant expansion in Southeast Asia’s cloud computing landscape. The region, which is backed by an investment of over $5 billion, will consist of three availability zones designed to improve business continuity and provide low-latency connectivity for local businesses, startups, and public sector organizations.

This development is set to drive substantial economic growth in Thailand, contributing an estimated $10 billion to the country’s GDP and creating over 11,000 full-time equivalent jobs annually across various sectors.

The launch is part of AWS’s broader strategy to extend its global infrastructure. The company currently operates 35 regions worldwide and continues to expand its cloud services to meet the growing demand for scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions. Notable Thai companies such as CP Group and Bank of Ayudhya are already utilizing AWS services to enhance their operations.

The new Thailand region strengthens AWS’s commitment to supporting local innovation and helping businesses scale efficiently, while also boosting Thailand’s digital economy.
