SAN ANTONIO – From the practices to the nationally televised event, the All-American Bowl was packed full of talent and excitement. The game may have been the attraction, but the practices provided many of the highlights.
Power Five programs from across the country were represented on the roster, and a few of them are happier after the performances their signed 2023 prospects turned in while in the Alamo City.
ALABAMA
Alabama has to be one of the biggest winners of the All-American Bowl week. The Crimson Tide shined all over the field during practices and the game. Five-star Caleb Downs grabbed an interception in the Alamodome. Justice Haynes was arguably the best running back at the event. Kaydn Proctor, Yhonzae Pierre and Keon Keeley were among the best players in San Antonio from start to finish.

LSU
Brian Kelly and LSU had a strong week in San Antonio. Whit Weeks turned heads in practices and again during the game thanks to his ability to thrive in space and make an impact as a run defender. Ka’Morreun Pimpton chose the Tigers on signing day, and he demonstrated his upside in a big way in the Alamo City, highlighted by a 43-yard touchdown grab on Saturday. Speedy receiver Jalen Brown also hauled in a score during the East team’s win.

OHIO STATE
Ohio State is an easy winner from All-American Bowl week. The Buckeyes were well-represented in San Antonio on both squads. Wide receivers Brandon Inniss and Carnell Tate backed up their five-star billing. Cornerback Calvin Simpson-Hunt turned in strong performances during practices and looks to be on the rise. All in all, the Buckeyes have to be very pleased.

TEXAS
The Longhorns had multiple signees in All-American Bowl action. Five-star linebacker Anthony Hill was the headliner of the group. Wide receiver Ryan Niblett showcased his electric speed, and Jelani McDonald is arguably the hottest prospect coming out of the week. Even S’Maje Burrell, who was a late addition to the game, made his presence felt on Saturday.

UCLA
The Bruins should be very pleased coming out of All-American Bowl week for one reason: Dante Moore looks to be a star. Moore was the best quarterback in San Antonio, and the five-star put that on full display in the Alamodome.
He ran away with MVP honors after throwing for four touchdowns in the game. Moore gives Chip Kelly a crucial building block behind center after successfully flipping him from conference foe Oregon. For that reason, UCLA is a winner.
Tre Edwards also represented the Bruins in San Antonio.
