Al Jazeera Arabic journalist Anas Al Sharif was among five Palestinians Staff killed in an Israeli airstrike on Saturday, August 10, 2025 targeting a tented area in Gaza City, according to local reports. The incident occurred amid ongoing military operations in the region, which have intensified following the October 7 Hamas-led attack.

Al Sharif, known for his frontline coverage of the conflict, was reportedly working at the time of the strike. His death marks another loss for the press corps operating in Gaza, where journalists have faced extreme risks while reporting on the humanitarian crisis and military escalation.

The strike also claimed the lives of four other individuals whose identities have not yet been publicly confirmed. The circumstances surrounding the attack are under review, as calls continue for the protection of civilians and media personnel in conflict zones.

Al Jazeera has not yet issued an official statement, but the network has previously condemned attacks on its journalists and called for accountability under international law.
