Modern robotics technology from ABB is assisting Renault Group in automating its manufacturing network for electric vehicle (EV) manufacturers across multiple important markets. Over the past 24 months, ABB has delivered the bulk of the 160 units in the big industrial robot range.

At the state-of-the-art e-motor assembly lines operated by Renault Group in Cleon and Douai, France, ABB’s robotic automation technologies will aid in delivering enhanced capacity. The next generation of electric cars will be produced at the company’s Douai site with the use of cutting-edge body-in-white facilities.

The orders solidify ABB’s position as one of the largest EV manufacturing technology providers to Renault Group and highlight ABB’s technology and solutions that support the entire production process. The orders support Renault Group’s transformative “Renaulution” strategy to generate sustainable profitability.
