Dive Insight:
The 19 newly acquired stores are located in or to the south of Oklahoma City and will continue to operate under the Chisholm Corner name.
“This acquisition represents Monfort Companies’ ongoing commitment to investing in urban and rural communities alike,” Kenneth Monfort, executive vice president of Monfort Companies, said in the email. “We’re extremely excited to expand our footprint into Oklahoma. Convenience stores like Chisholm Corner bring economic impact by creating local jobs and generating sales tax revenue that spur long-term vitality in communities across the U.S.”
7E has grown in recent years through acquisitions such as its purchase of eight Jack’s Convenience Stores in west Texas in December 2021. The company noted when considering stores or chains to buy, it looks at their growth potential and risk, and after purchase it makes upgrades to the locations with an eye toward improving their success.
7E joins several c-store chains that have made acquisitions in the last couple months. Earlier in December, Arko acquired 24 Uncle’s Convenience Store locations. In November, Refuel picked up 13 Eagles Enterprise stores, while Petroleum Marketing Group bought Holt Oil’s 19 c-store locations.
In addition to Oklahoma, Denver-based 7E also has stores in Colorado, Texas, Minnesota and Wisconsin. It began acquiring c-stores in 2016.
