Every NFL team is going to use social media to push for their players to get Pro Bowl votes, but the Los Angeles Chargers have taken that to the next level.
On Thursday they released a video for running back Austin Ekeler that expertly blends political advertisement with Pro Bowl hype video into one amazing 60-second clip.
It also poses a very intriguing question: Just why is big NFL trying to hold Austin Ekeler down?!
Ekeler has only rushed for 634 yards this season, which does not put him anywhere near the league (or conference) leaders at the position, but he has been a huge weapon in the Chargers’ passing game, having already caught 93 passes this season.
He has accounted for 1,257 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns (eight rushing, five receiving).
Setting aside the stats, that video alone should get him some votes. Great work by the Chargers.
