The Indianapolis Colts need a new head coach, but it doesn’t appear that owner Jim Irsay is in a rush to make his decision.
It has been three months since Irsay fired Frank Reich after a 3-5-1 start and despite having already had two rounds of interviews and seeing multiple vacancies filled across the league — including Reich getting an opportunity to redeem himself as head coach of the Carolina Panthers — Indy still doesn’t have a head coach.
According to Irsay on Twitter, it doesn’t sound like a decision will come anytime soon, either. There’s an old saying when something is imminent that it will happen “within days, if not hours.”
Irsay flipped that phrase on its head, saying that the Colts will have a final decision “coming in days not hours.’
