New York Giants safety Julian Love clearly isn’t impressed by head coach Nick Sirianni guiding the Philadelphia Eagles to Super Bowl LVII.
During an appearance on the NFL Network “Good Morning Football” program, Love credited Philadelphia’s roster and not Sirianni for the franchise being a win away from hoisting the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
“He’s a guy who really is doing a good job ’cause he’s not getting in the way of his team. He has an experienced roster from top to bottom, offense, defense,” Love said about Sirianni, as shared by Jaclyn Hendricks of the New York Post.
Some may say Sirianni is blessed to have talents such as wide receivers DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown, pass-rusher Haason Reddick, former Giants cornerback James Bradberry and others on his squad. However, the coach deserves at least a little credit for helping quarterback Jalen Hurts go from somebody who was nearly replaced by Deshaun Watson last offseason to a legitimate Most Valuable Player candidate.
It’s also worth noting that Love is in no place to say anything negative about the Eagles ahead of the Super Bowl. He essentially gifted Philadelphia a touchdown during the 48-22 blowout loss at home in Week 14 and then vowed before the playoff rematch that the Big Blue defense was “definitely going to test” Hurts’ sprained throwing shoulder at Lincoln Financial Field. The Eagles thrashed the Giants 38-7 that Saturday night in a contest that could’ve been more lopsided had Hurts been 100 percent.
