The Shade Room was on location and caught the moment Tory Lanez arrived at a Los Angeles courthouse for his Megan Thee Stallion assault trial.
The 30-year-old Canadian rapper, who’s real name is Daystar Peterson, was seen looking dapper as he exited a white Range Rover SUV, while wearing suit with a creme colored turtleneck underneath.
He was flanked by several burly security guards and what appeared to be his son, as he could be seen holding a young boy’s hand while entering into the building. Lanez appeared to be in good spirits, and even dapped a photographer was he made the walk to the courthouse.
Lanez Spotted Outside LA Courthouse As Opening Statements Begin In Megan Thee Stallion Assault Trial
Lanez was there for opening statements as he stands accused of shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in the foot back in July 2020. Megan is expected to testify at Lanez’ trial and was reported to be at the courthouse on Monday, according to The Rolling Stone.
Supporters of Megan could be spotted outside the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center on Monday, ABC News reports.
Lanez faces more than 22 years in prison if he is convicted on all three felony counts he is currently charged with.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles county prosecutors Kathy Ta and Alexander Bott allege Lanez shot the rapper, whose real name is Megan Pete, with a semi-automatic firearm during an argument that started inside a vehicle in the Hollywood Hills.
Lanez has pleaded not guilty to three separate felony charges stemming from the alleged shooting, including assault and having a concealed gun in a vehicle.
He recently waived his right to a jury trial on a newly-added felony charge of discharging a firearm with gross negligence. That means his fate will be decided by presiding Judge David Hereford alone, The Shade Room previously reported.
New Developments In The Case, Physician Found Shrapnel Fragments In Megan’s Left Heel
According to HotNewHipHop, Lanez has named billionaire Kylie Jenner and business executive Corey Gamble “on his list of potential defense witnesses.” If subpoenaed, Jenner and Gamble may have to testify, a source exclusively tells The Shade Room.
He has chosen the two because they were allegedly present at Jenner’s pool party ahead of the shooting.
As previously reported, a physician found Shrapnel Megan’s left heel. Shrapnel is shell casing fragments from a bullet, in most cases, defined as debris from a bomb or explosion.
Physician Determined Megan’s Wound Was Result Of Gunshot During Discharge Diagnosis
The reports confirm that the physician treated Megan with irrigation and debridement, which removes hardened tissue or debris. In this case, Shrapnel, from her foot. A medical professional prescribed her medication, and they determined her to be okay for discharge on July 14th.
Megan’s discharge diagnosis was classified as “gunshot injury.” After treatment and procedure, the physician still determined that her wound was a result of a gunshot.
