Brian McBride ‘will NOT return as US men’s soccer team general manager’ as investigation continues into World Cup coach Gregg Berhalter
According to ESPN Brian McBride will not return as general manger of the United States men’s national team.
McBride had been the GM of the U.S. national team since 2020.
As former member of the national team McBride scored 30 goals in 95 senior team appearances.

The move comes at a tumultuous time for U.S. soccer as Gregg Berhalter’s future remains in question after coaching the team through the 2022 World Cup.
Berhalter was placed under investigation after being blackmailed by former national team teammate Claudio Reyna and his wife over an incident that involved Berhalter kicking his wife in 1991.
The United States are set to play two friendlies at the end of this month which will be coached by interim manager Anthony Hudson. Berhalter’s contract as head coach of the national team expired in early January and it was announced that a decision on his future would not be made until the conclusion of the investigation.
