More Details Emerge About The Crash That Killed Devin Willock And Chandler LeCroy

According to CNN, the report has revealed that the Ford Expedition SUV, driven by LeCroy, and carrying Willock and two others, “failed to negotiate a left curve.” This resulted “in the vehicle striking a curb with its front passenger tire and leaving the roadway.” From there, the SUV struck a Georgia Power Pole and “another utility pole cutting them in half.”

After the SUV hit the two poles, it reportedly “struck a tree with its rear passenger quarter panel.” This caused the vehicle to “begin rotating clockwise where it struck another tree with its driver’s side.”

Willock, who was seated behind LeCroy and not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle when “it landed against the corner of an apartment building.”

The 20-year-old football player died at the scene. And 24-year-old LeCroy was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The report reveals that the “First Harmful Event” in the accident was the SUV hitting the curb. And the “Most Harmful Event” was the SUV hitting the tree. However, the report does not reveal the speed at which the vehicle was traveling.

In addition, alcohol and drug tests were not administered to LeCroy at the crash site. But CNN has reportedly reached out to the Athens-Clarke County coroner for the woman’s toxicology results via her autopsy.

The Injuries That The Two Other Passengers Received

According to the outlet, 26-year-old Victoria Bowles was sitting in the back seat on the passenger side of the vehicle. And she suffered multiple injuries during the collision.

Bowles was transported to the hospital following the crash. But the type of injuries that she has sustained has reportedly been “redacted” in the newly released crash report. The report, however, does reveal that Bowles was not wearing a seat belt.

Warren McClendon, the 21-year-old seated next to LeCroy, reportedly sustained a laceration to his head. His father has since informed the Athens Banner-Herald that McClendon is “doing well.”

Lil Warren was in the car that was involved in the accident and he is doing well. We are asking everyone to pray for Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy’s family. We are with lil Warren and will let everyone know more later. Thank you for your prayers…

McClendon’s father added that his son is “devastated” over the loss of his friend Willock.

…He is devastated about the loss of his roommate and close friend.

The Aftermath Of Willock And LeCroy’s Tragic Passing

As The Shade Room previously reported, the crash occurred early Sunday morning. And the accident took place hours after the Georgia Bulldogs celebrated their National Championship victory with a parade and ceremony inside Sanford Stadium.

According to CNN, Devin Willock joined the team as a freshman in 2020. And played on the offensive line in all 15 of the team’s games this past season. Chandler LeCroy was a football recruiting analyst for the team. McClendon is an offensive lineman who just revealed that he will begin preparing for the NFL draft on Saturday. And Bowles is a member of the Georgia football staff.

The University of Georgia Athletics has shared more information for those interested in supporting the Willock and LeCroy’s families.

The police investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
