Nordea Asset Management (NAM) has appointed veteran equity investor Rachel Reutter to help lead the expansion of its fast‑growing $19.6 billion impact investing platform, strengthening the firm’s position as institutional demand for measurable, accountability‑driven impact strategies accelerates.

Reutter joins NAM’s Sustainable Thematic Team, which manages more than €18 billion across climate and impact‑focused strategies. She brings two decades of equity‑investing experience, including over ten years running ESG‑integrated, engagement‑led portfolios at J O Hambro Capital Management. Her appointment is part of a broader build‑out of NAM’s governance‑led impact approach, which emphasises active ownership, transparent outcomes, and rigorous stewardship.

The move comes as impact funds gain traction among global asset owners seeking clearer frameworks for environmental and social performance. NAM’s thematic platform—spanning Copenhagen, London, and Singapore—has become a cornerstone of the firm’s climate‑transition and impact capabilities, supported by a 15‑member investment team that includes portfolio managers, impact specialists, and engagement professionals.

With Reutter’s arrival, NAM aims to deepen its research capacity, sharpen its engagement strategy, and scale its impact‑driven offerings at a time when investors are demanding both financial performance and verifiable real‑world outcomes.
