KLM to Cancel 119 Flights Due to Ground Crew Strike at Schiphol

AMSTERDAM — Dutch carrier KLM will cancel 119 flights on Wednesday as ground crew at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport prepare for another strike, the airline confirmed Monday. The disruption is expected to affect both domestic and international services, with passengers advised to check schedules and seek rebooking options.

The strike involves segments of KLM’s ground operations staff, who are demanding improved working conditions and wage adjustments. It marks the latest in a series of labor actions that have strained airport logistics and passenger services at one of Europe’s busiest hubs.

A spokesperson for Air France-KLM’s Dutch division said the airline is working to minimize impact and maintain essential operations. Schiphol Airport has also activated contingency plans to manage passenger flow and reduce delays.

The labor unrest adds pressure to an already challenged aviation sector, grappling with post-pandemic recovery, staffing shortages, and rising operational costs.
