WASHINGTON — FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Sunday that the agency is investigating the possibility of accomplices in the assassination of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. The update came during Kirk’s memorial service, where Patel posted a detailed statement on X outlining the scope of the ongoing inquiry.
Tyler Robinson has been arrested and charged with Kirk’s murder, which occurred on September 10, 2025. However, Patel emphasized that the investigation remains active and expansive. “We are pursuing every lead,” he wrote, noting that agents are examining a range of evidence including the location of the shooter, bullet trajectory, and digital communications.
The FBI is analyzing a text message confession, Discord chat logs, and surveillance footage for signs of coordinated activity. Patel also cited the review of hand gestures near Kirk at the time of the shooting, which may have served as signals, and is tracking visitors to Robinson’s residence in the days leading up to the incident.
The agency has not released further details on potential suspects or motives. The investigation continues amid heightened public scrutiny and calls for transparency.
