✈️ U.S. budget carrier Avelo Airlines has placed a landmark order for up to 100 Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, valued at $4.4 billion at list prices, marking the second-largest fleet investment in its history. The deal includes 50 firm orders and purchase rights for 50 additional jets, positioning Avelo as the first U.S. airline to operate Embraer’s next-generation E2 series.
The E195-E2, Embraer’s largest and most advanced commercial jet, offers seating for up to 146 passengers and is designed for fuel efficiency and short-field performance. Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027, complementing Avelo’s existing fleet of Boeing 737NG aircraft.
🚀 Avelo CEO Andrew Levy described the aircraft as “best-in-class,” highlighting its quiet cabin, 2×2 seating, and operational flexibility. The order follows a major capital injection aimed at accelerating the airline’s growth and expanding service to underserved markets.
The move also marks a milestone for Embraer, which has long sought a U.S. launch customer for its E2 program. Industry analysts view the deal as a strategic pivot for Avelo, enabling a dual-fleet model that enhances route versatility and cost efficiency.
With this bold investment, Avelo signals its intent to reshape affordable air travel across the U.S. while strengthening its competitive edge in the low-cost carrier segment.
