📍 Sunnyvale, California, 5 September 2025 — Fujitsu, in partnership with its network subsidiary 1Finity, has announced plans to open the Open Networking Innovation Centre–Americas (ONIC-Americas) in Sunnyvale, California. The facility, set to launch in November, will showcase the capabilities of Fujitsu’s advanced optical network platform tailored for data centre environments.
The centre will provide real-world interoperability testing, allowing clients to validate seamless integration across multivendor technologies. It will feature 1Finity’s T900 series liquid-cooled transponder, capable of energy-efficient 1.2Tb/s transmission.
Rod Naphan, Chief Revenue Officer at 1Finity, emphasized the centre’s role in promoting open standards and sustainable networking. “We’re excited to welcome industry visitors to help shape the future of open, multivendor networks,” he stated.
Supported by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the initiative follows the recent launch of ONIC-Europe in Düsseldorf, Germany, and reflects Fujitsu’s broader strategy to expand its global footprint in next-generation network infrastructure.
