WILMINGTON, Del. – A Philadelphia gang leader has been convicted in connection with the kidnapping and execution-style murder of a Wilmington resident, marking the sixth conviction in the case. Dwayne Alexander, 41, a high-ranking member of the Shotgun Crips, was found guilty by a federal jury on June 5, 2025, for his role in the July 2021 abduction and killing.

A Ruthless Crime Spanning Two States

According to court documents and trial evidence, the crime stemmed from a gang dispute involving Kimon Burton-Roberson, a lower-ranking Shotgun Crip. In July 2021, a group of gang members stormed the victim’s home, beat him with blunt objects, bound his hands with zip ties, and forced him into a vehicle.

The gang transported the victim to Alexander’s home in Philadelphia, where Alexander supplied the murder weapon and approved the execution. The victim was then driven to an industrial park in Yeadon, Pennsylvania, where he was shot in the head.

Six Convictions and Ongoing Sentencing

Alexander is the sixth person convicted in the case. Others awaiting sentencing include:

  • Kimon Burton-Roberson
  • Stephanie Bultes-Ramirez
  • Rodney Chambers
  • Jamil Salahuddin
  • Josiah Rivera, who was a minor at the time, was convicted in Delaware Superior Court.
