UPS Acquires Andlauer Healthcare Group for $1.6 Billion to Strengthen Healthcare Logistics

United Parcel Service (UPS) has announced the acquisition of Andlauer Healthcare Group (AHG), a Canadian provider of specialized healthcare logistics services, for $1.6 billion USD (approximately $2.2 billion CAD). The deal, which includes a cash offer of CAD $55 per share, represents a 31% premium over AHG’s last closing price on the Toronto Stock Exchange .

AHG operates nine distribution centers and 22 branches across Canada, offering third-party logistics and temperature-sensitive transportation services for the healthcare industry. The acquisition aims to enhance UPS’s cold chain capabilities and expand its presence in the healthcare logistics sector .

Michael Andlauer, founder and CEO of AHG, who also owns the NHL’s Ottawa Senators, will continue to lead the company post-acquisition. He expressed enthusiasm about leveraging UPS’s logistics capabilities to enhance AHG’s specialized services .

The transaction has been unanimously approved by AHG’s board of directors and is expected to close in the second half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and shareholder approval at a special meeting scheduled for June .

This acquisition is part of UPS’s broader strategy to expand its healthcare logistics capabilities, following previous acquisitions in Europe and Latin America. UPS aims to provide improved temperature-controlled and precise logistics services to its healthcare clients through this deal .
