Salesforce Empowers NGOs with AI to Tackle Climate and Biodiversity Challenges

CSR/ECO/ESG

Salesforce is leveraging its Agentforce platform to assist nonprofits in addressing climate and biodiversity crises. Through the “Agents for Impact” accelerator, Salesforce provides these organizations with AI tools, funding, and expertise to enhance operational efficiency and environmental impact.

Nonprofits like Good360 are utilizing Agentforce to optimize disaster response efforts. By automating tasks such as donation management and reporting, Good360 has improved the efficiency of its disaster response system, ensuring that donated goods reach the appropriate communities effectively, reducing waste and minimizing environmental impact. This agent-driven approach not only improves response times but also saves its staff over 1,000 hours annually, allowing them to concentrate on vital, on-the-ground disaster response.

Similarly, Per Scholas is employing AI agents to assist learners and coaches in drafting resumes, streamlining the process and enabling more meaningful, targeted feedback. These applications demonstrate how AI can augment nonprofit operations, allowing organizations to focus more on their missions and less on administrative tasks.

Beyond individual organizations, Salesforce is advocating for broader sustainable AI practices. In partnership with entities like Hugging Face, Cohere, and Carnegie Mellon, Salesforce has introduced the AI Energy Score, a benchmarking tool to assess the energy consumption of AI models. This initiative aims to promote transparency and encourage the development of energy-efficient AI technologies.

Salesforce’s commitment to integrating AI with sustainability underscores its dedication to supporting nonprofits in their climate and biodiversity efforts. By providing the necessary tools and resources, Salesforce is helping these organizations scale their impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
