Tragedy Strikes North Macedonia as Nightclub Fire Resulted in 51 Dead and Over 100 Injured

A devastating fire broke out early Sunday morning at the ‘Pulse’ nightclub in Kocani, North Macedonia, killing 51 people and injuring more than 100 others. The blaze, reportedly ignited by pyrotechnic devices used during a concert, quickly spread through the venue.

Interior Minister Pance Toskovski confirmed that sparks from the devices set the ceiling alight, causing a rapid fire that engulfed the club. A verified video from the event shows sparks shooting into the air, setting the ceiling on fire as the band on stage moves away from the danger.

Among the injured, 27 people were hospitalized with severe burns in Skopje City Hospital, and 23 others are receiving treatment at the Clinical Center, with minors among the victims. The fire broke out around 3:00 a.m., and firefighters responded to the scene as TV footage showed them battling the blaze.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski expressed his sorrow in a Facebook post, calling the loss of young lives “irreparable” and urging relevant authorities to take urgent action to support the injured and assist the victims’ families. This tragic event has shaken North Macedonia, with authorities pledging to investigate the incident further.
