BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has launched a new €800 million Venture and Impact platform, consolidating its efforts in ecological transition, fintech, and impact investment. This platform, which includes the Solar Impulse Venture Fund, is aimed at accelerating digital transformation and fostering sustainable innovation.
The platform will focus on impactful investments in areas such as ecological transition and fintech, under the leadership of Yann Lagalaye, Head of Ecological Transition & Impact. Lagalaye highlighted the importance of the new structure in supporting BNP Paribas’s broader sustainability and digital transformation goals.
The platform is supported by the promotions of Marinus Oosterbeek and Vincent Baillin to Managing Directors at Opera Tech Ventures (OTV), which plays a key role in the strategy. OTV, which focuses on fintech investments, will target minority stakes in Series A to C startups primarily in Europe and North America. Since its 2018 launch, OTV has backed 17 startups, including Arbol, Stoik, SESAMm, and PropHero.
BNPP AM aims to make 3-5 strategic investments annually, reinforcing its commitment to leading innovation in sustainable finance. Lagalaye stated, “Our ambition is to strengthen OTV’s position as a leading investor in fintech, insurtech, and adjacent sectors, while supporting entrepreneurs and driving impactful innovation.”
