The ‘MLB All-Star third basemen’ quiz

Sports

This time last week, we thought it was safe to assume that Carlos Correa would be the shortstop for the San Francisco Giants for the next decade-plus. As it turns out, he’ll be the third baseman for the New York Mets instead. On Tuesday, it was announced that the Giants’ introductory presser for Correa was being postponed due to “a medical concern.” Then, overnight, news broke that the Mets had swooped in and signed Correa to a 12-year, $315M deal. Just last week, team owner Steve Cohen lamented that when it came to Correa, the Mets “got there late.” When given a second chance, Cohen got his man, something he’s become quite accustomed to over the last month or so. Now he just has to hope that all of this lavish spending actually brings a World Series back to Flushing.

Which brings us to today’s quiz of the day. With Francisco Lindor entrenched at SS for the Mets, Correa will slide over to the hot corner, where the Mets have not had an all-star in a decade. So with that in mind, how many of the last third basemen from every MLB franchise to make the All-Star Game can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
