Orange – Concrete Speaker is an interesting product that combines the essence of brutalist architecture with somewhat nostalgic sensibilities. Duc Vu Anh is the designer behind this silhouette which has been described as “resilient, durable, and portable.”
The piece retains a paired-back aesthetic because of its monochromatic concrete exterior. However, the Duc Vu Anh added a playful touch through the inclusion of bright orange detailing. The visual juxtaposition makes the piece stand out in one’s home and contributes a retro-like character to the design. The choice of material also ensures that the speaker does not vibrate.
There are four physical buttons on the Orange – Concrete Speaker. These are for volume control, playing, pausing, and even Bluetooth connectivity. The device also has a USB charging port (also in orange).
